Historic Bella Vista FarmHistoric Bella Vista FarmBella Vista is located approximately 32 kilometres west of Sydney in the Shire of Baulkham Hills.

Bella Vista’s most famous historical resident was Elizabeth Macarthur who farmed sheep on her "Seven Hills Farm". The Pearce family later acquired part of this property, built a homestead and named their farm "Bella Vista". This farm was to give its name to the area. While the acreage has been substantially reduced for housing development, the homestead and many outbuildings still remain and are now owned by Baulkham Hills Shire Council. The council is currently restoring many of the buildings to their former glory and will be opening them to the public in coming years.

Bella Vista is known for its internationally renowned Norwest Business Park, which combines major businesses and residential precincts in a contemporary setting.

The original inhabitants of the Bella Vista area were the Darug people. The Darug were the custodians of the majority of what is now the Greater Sydney region. They were divided into a number of different ‘clans’, whose quick demise upon European settlement has sadly resulted in very little information remaining on how they utilised the local area.
