The Opening Day of the Transplant Games will have fun for the whole family, with free entertainment for the kids including a performance by the talented Fletcher Pilon, winner of Australia’s Got Talent.

The 15-year-old singer songwriter won the high-rating Channel 9 show in March with a song about his little brother, Banjo. Now, Fletcher is appearing at the Opening Ceremony of the 15th Australian Transplant Games on Sunday, September 25, to help encourage Aussies to join the Australian Organ Donor Register.

With live music, jumping castle, a fly-past, face-painters, clowns, balloon animals, dragon boat races and a Fun Run in a glorious outdoor location, the day will have something for everyone.

There will be over 800 visitors in town for the Games, the joyful sporting event which showcases the life-saving benefits of transplantation, while promoting organ and tissue donation to the Australian public.

The week-long celebration of the gift of life will start with the Opening Ceremony on Sunday, September 25, a fun-filled day at the Sydney International Regatta Centre. Transplant recipients and athletes of all ages, donor families, living donors, friends, families, health professionals and supporters will come together in the world-class Western Sydney location.

People can watch from the grandstand at the Olympic rowing venue as teams representing Hospitals, Health Districts and States take part in an exciting 200m dragon boat sprint race.

Afterwards, hundreds will tackle a 5km course in the DonateLife Fun Run as they walk, jog or race around the beautiful track lined with cheering spectators.

There will be stalls, sailing, a free jumping castle for the kids along with other entertainment, and an awesome fly-pass by the Royal Australian Airforce.

Everyone in surrounding areas is being urged to grab their mates and join in this wonderful event to help spread the positive health benefits of organ and tissue donation.
