Inside the Studios of Masters
Many of our Artists open their studio doors each year for you to watch these talented masters at work. View the magnificent and totally original results of their labours including watercolours, oil paintings, pottery, glassware, ceramics, art embroidery, metal and other sculptures. Travel the weekend artists’ trail in August each year.
To Market, To Market
The popular Hills Artisan Market is held on the 2nd Saturday of each month at Castle Hill Showground. Browse through over 100 stalls with such variety as to pique the imagination – from hand painted pet feeding bowls to brightly coloured dolls. Spend hours exploring the different stalls rummaging for gifts then pick up a quick bite at one of the gourmet food outlets. The special Christmas Twilight Craft Fair will have your friends asking where you found such fabulous and interesting gifts.
Genuine Balinese Artifacts
And for something really different and original, call in to Baligarden at Maraylya. Balinese religious beliefs place great emphasis on the garden as a place of peace and tranquility. For over 20 years, owner Sue Clark has visited Bali to hunt down unique artworks produced by Balinese craftsmen. Sue’s display and gardens are set on 25 acres which features artifacts such as hand carved stone and wood statues, water features, handmade teak furniture, Lombok pottery, ancient Sasak pottery, limestone carvings and jewellery – all imported from Indonesia.
